Video-Conferencing

Video-conferencing is a technology that allows online meetings where two or more people engage in a live audio-visual call without having to move to a single location together. Thus, the participants can see, hear, and talk to each other in real-time, no matter where in the world they might be at that particular moment. In that way, video-conferencing simulates a face-to-face meeting between two or more remote parties as they establish this type of 'live' visual connection in a virtual meeting room. Video-conferencing is typically used for business communication and collaboration, both within and outside an organization. But it can also be used in education, organized webinars and conferences, job interviews, connecting with friends and family, for freelancers and self-employed individuals, for small businesses looking to grow without travel costs, etc.

To make video-conferencing possible and get the most out of the experience, you need to set up the necessary hardware and software on your PC. You will need a stable internet connection, a video display device (laptop, desktop monitor, or a TV screen), a computer or conference phone, peripherals (webcam, microphone, headset, speaker, etc.), and of course, video-conferencing software. Nowadays, there are so many video-conferencing software solutions that have become very popular because of their user-friendly features and good quality of service, e.g. Zoom, Google Hangouts, Skype, Microsoft Office 365, Cisco Webex, etc. Video-conferencing can be 'point-to-point' conferencing, i.e. if there are only two participants communicating from different locations in real-time, or 'multipoint' conferencing, i.e. with three or more participants involved. Video-conferencing software solutions provide options such as screen sharing, chatbox, simultaneous annotations, file sharing, video call recording, device switching, minimizing noise distraction, and many others. All these features may provide a rich online meeting experience and improve the way people communicate and collaborate today.

Video-conferencing offers numerous benefits of video communication such as improved productivity (people make informed decisions faster and work more efficiently), well-structured and organized meetings (predefined start and end time of video-conferences), time and cost savings (in-person meetings without going anywhere), 'face-to-face' interactions (the visual component makes video-conferencing more engaging and it 'humanizes' the conversation),  etc. On the other hand, video-conferencing may also have some disadvantages such as cognitive overload and fatigue caused by spending too much time online and in front of the computer, lack of 'real' personal connection as in face-to-face and in-person meetings, unreliable technology which may cause difficulties with video-conferencing, necessary training and education for using different video-conferencing software, poor internet connection, awkward situations you may find in if you forget to turn off your microphone or video in due time, etc. However, with all its benefits, video-conferencing has given rise to modern communication and collaboration solutions that have proven to be extremely valuable at this time of the pandemic and lockdowns.

  1. Hello everybody!
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of video-conferencing. I prefer eye-to-eye conversation and learning. But video-conferencing can be useful in situations like this pandemic. It helps students and teachers in many ways. We can learn from our home, where is comfortable and safe. Students also have more time to finish all their obligations and they can save more money because there is no need for extra expenses like buying tickets for public transport or ordering lunch and coffee at some restaurant. Negative thing about video-conferencing is that it really hurts when you have to sit straight for four or five hours at the computer. I feel pain in my back and my eyes become itchy and red. So, it is not healthy at all. It would be much better if we could be in the nature and breathe the fresh air and listen to school lectures. On the contrary, video-conferencing is good for some businesses to expand their selling and improve their skills. We are also constantly improving our online skills. Many people have learnt how to use internet, computer and to present online and are still improving since the start of COVID-19. This is an excellent opportunity for online platforms to expand. So, there is something black in white, and something white in black after all, isn't it?

  2. The advantages of video conferencing are that we can access the meeting from anywhere, and the disadvantages of video conferencing are that they require good technical equipment. I think video conferencing is better to hold some meeting because we don’t have to worry about coming to a particular location. Yet some conferences cannot be replaced by a video meeting.

The disadvantage of video-conferencing is that you do not have eye to eye contact. I like to use teams its very clear and handy to use. Video-conferencing can be used in education thru teachers and students, the teachers go online and the students follow the class. I prefer face to face meetings.

  4. While video-conferencing can be a great way of learning, I must say that I prefer face to face communication. We are social beings, and because of that we need face to face interaction to develop healthy relationships and social skills. I think that video-conferencing is a great way for distance learning, and it can help us if we are too sick to attend face to face interactions. For me personally, zoom is the best for video-conferencing because it is by far the simplest, but Microsoft teams is also good. Knowing how those platforms work can be a great benefit to us. I still think that face to face interactions can't be replaced by any kind of equipment.

  5. Unfortunately, we are in a situation where we have to use video-conferencing whether we like it or not, whether we know it or not. We have to adapt to the situation, It`s just like it. The advantages of video conferencing are that we don`t have to leave our house to get to work or collage. Some people function better when they are at their "safe place", some are introverted, some prevented from leaving their home, there are a lot of situations which prevent people from committing outside the home. And for disadvantages of video-conferencing I will list many health problems that arise from excessive laptop and mobile use, there are people that are not in a very good financial situation but this sistem request equipment like laptop and good internet. So I think the working online and doing thing online is useful just for some people, not everyone. Personally, I am used on this online world but I really miss the old way of doing things and living. I think we affect people better when we transmit information in person. We are humans, we need to touch, to smell, to taste for out full experience.

  6. I'm not happy when I must to use too much technology, but thanks to pandemic, it's fact that we learned that emergency meetings can be online. Maybe, it's the biggest advantage of video-conferencing. Sometimes it's not nessesery to go to university. For me, the best applications are Teams and Zoom. Those aplications have many options which help us in online learning. For example, after pandemic, we can still use video-conferencing for consultations between students and professors. The disadventage of video-conferencing is that we are sitting in front of computer all day, so sometimes we are in bas mood and we have problems with anxiety. Also, we are often depressed.

  7. Video conferencing is a communication through which, in real time, sound and images in motion alternate between two or more locations, thus allowing participants to hold a business meeting or training “live”. The advantages of video conferencing are that we can attend video conferences from any location or in our own homes. We might not even go to some trainings because they are held in another city and country, but through video conferences we can attend and follow them in our house. Also, in this way we can hold business meetings with people wherever they are. So far, I have had many video conferences within the faculty but also business. I attended video conferences that took place in Zenica, Banja Luka, Sarajevo and Belgrade, but in my home and it was very interesting to me. I also hold my business meetings via video because my boss works and lives in Sarajevo and I in Visoko. Therefore, I think that holding a video conference is a great advantage for me personally. For me, face-meetings are much better because it helped and facilitated me a lot at work and at college. I had the opportunity to be at trainings and conferences where I would not have the opportunity to be live because they were held much further away from my city.

  9. One of the best advantages is that we can be everywhere in this world and be on video-conferencing. We can save the money, because we don't need to paid trip on some other city or even country. With video-conferencing we save our time, we don't need to go 3 hour earlier, we just start video-conferencing in one minute. But video-conferencing reduces social contacts, we don't have real feeling that we are doing something important. Internet connection can sometimes make end our conference, or people don't hear that we say something important because our connection was bad. For me ZOOM is really good aplication for video-conferencing, because it gave us a lot of time, than a lot of people can be on video-call, we can share our screen and it is important if we have some presentation. Video-conferencing can be used in education in different ways. Proffesor can give a lecture, students can make presentation. Video-conferencing can give more time to proffesor and students to make discussion about something. Students are at their home and they are safe. They can always be in contact with proffesor. But bad thing about video-conferencing in online education is that students can turn on video-conferencing and don't be even there. I think that is better face to face meetings because we have feel like we need to learn what proffesor telling us in school. We have obligation to be in school and when we are done with school we can do what we want. But when school is online we are always in school, but we don't have real feeling for school.

Video-conferencing can be used for a variety of purposes, especially at the time of this pandemic that befell us. We can perform business duties, hear from family members we are not allowed to visit because of the virus, even teaching in schools takes place through video-conferencing. Video-conferencing makes our lives a lot easier these days, to a greater or lesser extent.

  11. At the begging of the pandemic and isolation, video conferencing was very useful and it provided us to move easily from our schools to online classes. We also found it interesting because we could talk with our friends and teachers without actually leaving our room. So I think it really helped us to survive this pandemic and to improve our knowledge.
After a few months of using this kind of communication and spending all day in front of our computers, we really missed seeing our classmates and teachers face to face. And it also effects a lot on our health (causing us maybe some back pains or headaches).
Even after more than a year of using video-conferencing type of learning, we still didn't get back to our classrooms with our friends and we really hope that soon life will get back to normal and that we won't have to use technology this much. Only when needed.
I think this type of communication is best to use with our friends and family or business partners who live far away and we don't have the opportunity to see them in person.

Video conferencing helped us there, because if we couldn't follow the classes online, we would lose a lot of material. It was interesting to everyone at the beginning, but when it has been going on for a long time, it stops being. Of course, this type of communication also has a negative effect on our health. I hope that the situation with the pandemic will calm down and that we will finally return to our colleges and follow the classes normally.

  13. The advantage of video conferences is saving time and money at the same time, less travel to meetings, everyday usage and simple approach. 1. Save time and money - online conferences are shorter than “live” conferences, because breaks, lunch time, etc. are excluded. If there are breaks, they are much shorter, because it’s about home environment and not some serious office or hall. 2. Less travel to meetings – refers to the equally spent time for all participants to come to the conference. It is only needed to find a link and to join in time. When we talk about “live” conferences, some participants need up to 4-5h to arrive at the conference place. 3. Everyday usage – it can be applied more often because it does not involve spending a lot of energy, space and time for attendance. 4. Simple approach – The internet has allowed us to join many conferences with just one click. This sounds much easier than finding a certain street or hotel where the conference is being held. Disadvantages refer to eye contact which plays the major role in social communication, but video conferences can make the false impression that the interlocutor, for example, avoids eye contact. Also, the disadvantage of an online conference is bad internet connection what can lead to unsuccessful conference organization. Those are factors that we cannot affect, but if we plan and adjust our obligations to that conference, then we lost one day. According to my experience, the best video conferencing application is ZOOM app. Since each time carries its own burden, our time also carries the technology explosion. It happened that it was almost impossible make any agreement, meeting, communication done without the internet. The internet has become our everyday life, and therefore I consider that we need to assimilate to online conferences, online classes, courses, etc. Certainly, “live” conferences have an irreplaceable role and the internet cannot provide it. However, why not? Video conferences save our time, it sounds a little weird but we came to that situation that we can make a cake and be present on meeting at the same time. It sounds a little weird, but it is very tempting to me!

  14. Video-conferencing is very popular today and of course it has some advantages and some disadvantages as well. First of all, it safes a lot of money and time because you don't have to travel from one place to another. Another thing is that you can get help or get job done with someone who lives on the other side of the world. I also think that it improves productivity. On the other hand it requires good equipment. Also some things are better to be done in person, face to face  is sometimes a better option. From my personal experience Zoom is a great aplication for video-conferencing.
Because of the pandemic we are forsed to use video-conferencing in education. Instead of going to school, we stay at home and we have online classes. I think that this a good example of situation in which face to face is much better than video-conferencing. Nothing can replace education in schools.
At the end all I can say is that I still choose face-to-face. Video-conferencing has advantages but I would only use it if face-to-face communication is not possible at the moment.

  15. Video conferencing is type of online meeting where two or more people engage in a live audio-visual call with strong internet connection that participants can see ,hear and talk to each other in real time no matter where in the world they are. Like many things, video conferencing has its own advantages and disadvantages . Advantages of video conferencing : save times and resources , increases productivity of the the employees , it has a lot of intangible benefits too but on the other side disadvantages of video conferencing : it is still lacks the personal touch face to face communication , even the best systems can suffer from technical problems and also it has a high initial cost. During a pandemic of Corona Virus we all use different forms of online communication via video conferencing. In one way video conferencing has allowed us to communicate at least as much with each other but on the other hand it deprived us of the possibility of seeing in the real world to which we are all accustomed. I am not fan of spending a lot of time in front of a computer. I hope that this everything will pass soon and that we will return to normal. We are currently in a situation where we do not have the opportunity to meet in person at college. So only way to follow the lecture and be involved in the educational process is through a video call. I personally prefer going to the faculty building and attend lectures in person. 17. Given that we are in a time of a pandemic when we are forced to use technology, video conferencing has been a new form of communication for many. Most of us have encountered video conferencing. When we had a conversation with another person who is not currently there (he is in another country), such calls are not a problem for us, but calls in which there are more people are something completely new. Everyone is in a different place, at home, at work and the like but we all talk at the same time, hear each other, see each other. This way of communication has made the situation we are in much easier. During a pandemic, we are forced to use online classes in which we encounter video conferencing on a daily basis. Video conferencing allows us to follow various meetings, seminars or trainings that take place in another city or country. Today, thanks to videoconferencing, we have the opportunity to follow them from a comfortable armchair in our home. Although this type of communication has its advantages, it is important to note that it also has its disadvantages. Often this type of communication is interrupted by the loss of the internet connection, the loss of electricity or the failure of the electronic device. Due to such unplanned events, I prefer face-to-face meetings because then I have no fear of the disappearance of the internet connection, electricity and the like. Face-to-face meetings are much better for me, because through them I also build my self-confidence.

  23. Hello guys!
Video-conferencing is an indispensable part of our lives in this and last year. It for sure has advantages but disadvantages. First, we can wake up 5 minutes before the conference. If we must not turn on our video camera we can still lay in bed dressed in pajama. Video-conferencing is very useful for saving our time and learning or engaging in the comfort of our home. Driving or walking somewhere takes so much time and energy. It is positive that we still can see each other during video calls like we are face-to-face.
Disadvantages maybe are more expressed than advantages. From my personal experience, the focus is a lot lower than in face-to-face communication. Even looking at a laptop or mobile phone makes us tired and poorly concentrated. An Internet connection can always make a problem. That is something that we can't predict. We can prepare material for presentation, talk, or similar and then have difficulties with sharing or showing it. It is a challenge to lead some activity because communication is difficult. Even if cameras are turned on we can't see all participants at the same time. Someone's microphone can be broken down or low functional.
Personally, I like Teams. Zoom is also really good application. They have a lot of options. You can raise your hand, share the screen, record meetings, including a really big number of people, etc. Teams is maybe a bit better because in this application it is possible to post material and communicate on that way or in chat.
I prefer face-to-face meetings. It is better for social life, understanding and lower stress.

  24. In my opinion, the biggest problem of this way of learning, which is very little mentioned, is the lack of socialization, the impossibility of establishing live contact. The role of students is not only that they are students in school, they are friends to each other , comedians, sympathizers, animators, and they embodied all these roles by staying in school, communicating and building relationships. In a way, all of their roles and social needs are interrupted or torn apart by this situation, thus creating seams that will have to be sewn and healed. Some of these stitches may even remain permanently as a marker and reminder of this time and situation to which we are exposed. Also neglected are students living in families with a bad family atmosphere, and school for these students was an escape from problems at home in addition to education, and now they spend most of their time in such an atmosphere, suffering emotionally and mentally, while dealing with problems who rule the world and society caused by the virus, but also by problems in their microenvironment.
However, despite all these shortcomings of online teaching, in certain situations and moments it was and is necessary, and the only replacement for classical teaching in the changed conditions in which we currently live. Ultimately, if we look positively and optimistically, this way of education can be used with the investment of effort and work to develop some knowledge, organizational skills and other skills whose fruits we can use sometime in the future, but hopefully, not in this emergency, but in the "old" way of life that we all miss now.

  25. This kind of meetings, learning and connecting with people is not a good option for me. Nothing can replace face to face meetings and the all in one socializing. Not everybody can establish the needed internet connection and get all the needed display devices. Having a good and available wi-fi connection is something that is not in our power so its not promising all the time. As everything is on those devices now, people also lose the physical connection with each other and it can affect their mental health too. I personally can't wait to get back to the live, face to face lessons and gatherings. Being with people, in person is something that makes me less tense, I'm happier and more optimistic about everything. We also need more physical activities, which can't be possible through the monitors and computers. So I'm all in for being back to the old school- live meetings, live classess and live hangouts.

  26. Video conferencing is the method of visual communication in which face-to-face, live communication takes place without requiring any transportation. Video conferencing erases the limitations of distances and helps in real-time communication with the help of the internet. It is widely used by the companies to interact with their employees and clients within the country and overseas. It dramatically reduces the travel costs of a company, as it allows to hold meetings, seminars and training sessions without requiring the distant employees and clients to travel to the main location. As there are positive and negatives sides of every technology, video conferencing also has its own share of advantages and disadvantages.
The malfunction of any of the hardware or software component can hamper the smooth functioning of the work. To rectify the issue, skilled technical people are required. This may delay the work and add to the maintenance cost of the company.
A meeting or an interview via video conferencing can sometimes lead to wrong decisions and selections, as many a time it becomes difficult to access the gestures and personality of a person through this virtual medium.
The benefits of video conferencing in the classroom ultimately depends on how effectively a teacher uses this technology.
Video conferencing can bring a whole new dimension to the classroom. It allows teachers to connect with other classes, introduce guest lecturers from around the world, and bring live events to the students (rather than take the students to those events).
I prefer face-to-face meetings because I am not used to spend my day on working on computer, and I think that some of professors are not using correctly benefits of video conferencing.

  27. I hate video conferencing, just because I am a type of person who hates others being in my safe space uninvited. I cannot control my family, neighbours,Telemach and all the other things that happen. Maybe if we were in Canada of some other place that has 24 hour tech support, but here it's just sad. We are a pen and paper kind of people, I believe. Personally, I much rather talk to people face to face. And that little video image of myself bugs me because while I am talking to other people I am checking all the flaws on my (on the camera) wonky face. Not gonna lie it also makes me depressed because I miss human interaction. All an all I hate it. The only thing that I can find positive about it is that I can be in my pj's and don't have to get up early to find myself in a people taco trying to breathe, being crushed in the wonderful Gras transportation desaster. Also, sometimes you can show people some things better digitally than you ever could in person so I guess it has that positive side to it for education. To each their own. Ivana Parađina, PO2

For me personally the advantage is that I don’t have to leave the house especially when the weather is bad and I can be relaxed in the home environment. For me personally the disadvantage is problems we face all the time. Due to low quality of connection the meetings can be interrupted. Also I prefer real face to face conversation because I really want to see my friends. It is not the same when you see them in a computer. The other disadvantage is that I find it better to learn when I'm at school. Face to face meetings are much better for me and I really hope everything will be back to normal soon.

  30. What are the advantages and disadvantages of video-conferencing?
-Technology is improving rapidly, and since the pandemic started many people greatly rely on it in many spheres of life. Many companies used video conferencing before the pandemic, but since many people had to stay at homes during this time, the usage of such way became a new normal for many. When it comes to companies, not only that they could connect with other partners globally, but also employers had to give the chance to their employees to show how responsible they are to do everything from their homes. In this way many companies saved a lot of money, because they didn’t have to pay for their business trips fees, and everything those trips include, also facility bills cuts, and even saving the environment, because many people didn’t have to commute to work. Those are advantages, which many companies should continue practicing even after the pandemic.
On the other side many employees (depending of the field of work) didn’t have necessary skills to use programs on their own, and for them it was really inconvenient. Also not everyone has ideal conditions at their homes for such video calls, because of their family members. Some people live in small apartments with a few members, perhaps small children, and it is sometimes very difficult to perform hear and talk in such circumstances, and it can be uncomfortable for the whole family.
However, it is great that we have such tools, especially now during the hard times, we are people, we learn, we adjust some less, some more.

Video conferencing solutions provide a live, visual connections between two or more people who are usually located in separate locations. Adventages are that video conferencing saves time and resources, increases productivity of the employees and a lot of intangible benefits too. Disadvantages are that still lacks the personal touch of face-to-face communication and technical problems. The best application for me is Zoom application. Video conferencing can bring a lot of good things in teaching. Video conferencing can provide an instant and reliable method through which the entire organization can connect, communicate, and collaborate. Not only do video conferencing tools make communication more comfortable and cheaper for the organization but they also provide a lot of intangible benefits.

  32. Hello!
Video-conferencing became a part of our lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. We use computers and telephones more than usual to communicate. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of video-conferencing and I prefer face-to-face conversation because I like to see and feel a person I am talking to. But in this situation, we all had to get used to video chat mode of communication. This mode of communication has advantages and disadvantages. Some of advantages are: we save our time and money , if we have internet access, we can access the meeting from anywhere, we are in a safe place and not exposed to danger (Coronavirus infection), we could talk with our friends and teachers without actually leaving our room. Some of disadvantages are: affects our health badly, we move less, we do'nt have live contact wit our friends, family or our teachers, we don't socialize and we need a good technical equipment. I like to use „Teams“ application because it's simple and safe for using and learning. I hope the COVID-19 pandemic will pass soon and I hope that we will return to the classrooms soon.

  33. Video-conferencing is typically used for business communication and collaboration, both within and outside an organization. But it can also be used in education, organized webinars and conferences, job interviews, connecting with friends and family, for freelancers and self-employed individuals, for small businesses looking to grow without travel costs, etc. the participants can see, hear, and talk to each other in real-time, no matter where in the world they might be at that particular moment. In that way, video-conferencing simulates a face-to-face meeting between two or more remote parties as they establish this type of 'live' visual connection in a virtual meeting room. On the contrary, video-conferencing is good for some businesses to expand their selling and improve their skills. We are also constantly improving our online skills. Many people have learnt how to use internet, computer and to present online and are still improving since the start of COVID-19. This is an excellent opportunity for online platforms to expand.

  34. Hello everyone, I have to say that I personally prefer face-to-face contact when it comes to conversation or presentation. It is easier to explain and express your emotions, it is easier to show someone something and teach him something, to dedicate himself to him. But..thanks to advanced technology, today it is possible to educate yourself and others through the internet. Due to the moment of the corona virus pandemic, the school takes place online, through video calls and video lectures. Some like it, some don't. You can educate yourself from the comfort of your home, you don't even have to be in that city, you can be in a completely different country and attend lectures, that's one advantage. Disadvantages are poor connections, inactivity of students but also physical inactivity and spending a long period of time at the computer. I sincerely hope that we will hang out in the classrooms as soon as possible and that video calls will be our last option. Osmanović Ajla, ERV2

This technology is particularly convenient for business users in different cities or even different countries because it saves time, expenses, and hassles associated with business travel. Uses for video conferencing include holding routine meetings, negotiating business deals, and interviewing job candidates.Video conferencing's main advantage over teleconferencing is that users can see each other, which allows them to develop stronger relationships. With a strong internet connection, the participants can see, hear, and talk to each other in real time, no matter where in the world they are. We are now in a situation to use video conferencing for our services. We have been teaching online classes for a year now. I think there are pros and cons in this situation. The good side is that we can feel more comfortable while learning and we have more time for our family. One of problems might be some technical problems or less communication between us and teacher. But, we keep yourself and others safe now and that is the most important.

  40. The world has been buzzing about this topic for the last year. During the pandemic, this contributed to the completion of colleges, various schools, courses ... As for me and my opinion, I prefer four-way communication over the Internet. Today's technology has advanced so much that today we can do work from home, lead meetings, hear from our dear people who are very far from us. The disadvantage of this method of communication is precisely the person, who has the fear to turn on the camera and microphone and to speak freely. That fear, that is, lack of self-confidence, leads to nothing and has no purpose. While live communication would be much better for both people. In several cases, I came across on the Internet that there are also online consultations with a psychologist. That has already touched me. It is difficult in these conditions, but I think it is even more difficult for a person who is looking for a video call for that form because it is not easy to work.
I hope that the pandemic will end as soon as possible, that we will return to our benches and live communication, and of course, we can always hold meetings online.

  42. Video conferencing connects people in real time through audio and video communication over Internet who enables virtual meeting and collaboration on digital documents and shared presentations. Like all technologies, video conferencing has its advantages and disadvantages from different point of view.
    Advantages of video conferencing
    1. No time constraint: Video conferencing can be conducted at any time of the day. Time differences between countries do not matter when people use this method of communication because they do not actually need to travel to attend meetings.
    2. Dramatic travel saving: Not only is video conferencing a direct replacement for many in-person business trip, but also there is virtually no cost for people to be involved in a virtual meeting, you can easily bring the right them together.
    3. Easy communication: People can use video conferencing to communicate with anyone with HD video and other collaboration tools such as whiteboard, text exchange, file sharing, media sharing, screen sharing, remote control, electronic voting, conference recording etc.
    4. Increased productivity: By eliminating time and district barriers, meetings can be hold anytime, anywhere with anyone. In this way, meetings are shorter and more effective. And also with the rich collaboration tools, decisions can be made faster.
    Disadvantages of video conferencing
    1. Lack of personal interaction: Some meetings require a personal touch to be successful. Video conferencing can be less personal than meeting face to face, and it can be possible to miss out on vital body language when you’re struggling with a pixelated image or stuttering video.
2.Technical problems: The major disadvantages are the technical difficulties associated with smooth transmissions that could result from software, hardware or network failure. Remote connections are sometimes known to be hampered by environmental changes. On some occasions, the absence of technical support personnel creates difficulty for participants who are unfamiliar with the videoconferencing technological concepts.
    3. International time zones:One of the very real disadvantages of using video conferencing is that if you communicate regularly with people in other countries you will be available at different times to them. Unfortunately without the skills of a time lord there’s not really a practical way to overcome this.
    4. High cost of setup:Setting up video conferencing in an office can be a bit expensive for small-sized companies. Simple features can fit into the budget, but if advanced features are required, then a substantial amount of expenditure must be done.
In my opinion,Video conferencing advantages definitely outweigh its disadvantages. It enables people from different place to communicate with each other in a more convenient way.
The Best Video Meeting Apps are: Skype, Zoom, Teams, Slick, BigBlueButton, Google Meet.
Due to the pandemic, we were forced to switch to online classes and video meetings. Honestly, it became very tiring and boring. Nothing can replace socializing live, talking, the presence of a person.

  43. Today, we can't imagine life without online video - conferencing, especially because of COVID -19 pandemic. Video - conferencing saves time and resources, increases productivity of the employees, also has a lot of intangible benefits for any organization such as a strong sense of community due to the personal face-to-face conversation instead of only hearing the voice of the person they’re communicating with. 46. I believe technology has many advantages and disadvantages. In particular, video conferencing helps people in their business life. For example, large firms, companies that have their stores and firms around the world can hold meetings online, be all directors and other employees and follow all new ideas, events and get informed without taking the right step in real life. Imagine how unreal it once seemed, and today we have and can say that we function pretty well. It's a little scary, isn't it?
On the other hand, video calls are also good for large families and people who are far from each other for any reason. In this way, with the help of technology, we can keep together with family, friends and all the dear ones who is because any reason far away and in some way be together.
Of course, my opinion is that nothing can replace meetings and live communication, when certain people are seen in real life, when they feel that someone is breathing, when they can touch, hug and be next to each other in the full sense of the word.
Today's technologies make many things possible, and seemingly make it easier for us, but I think we are setting up a lot cooler because of all this. We lose feeling for other people, for their emotions, for their existence. We lost the feeling that communicating with real people really exists.

There are certain issues that are disputed to prevent VC from becoming a standard form of communication. One of them is e.g. eye contact which plays a major role in social communication, and in VC the wrong impression is created that the interlocutor avoids eye contact. But it is believed that these problems will disappear with the advancement of technology and people getting used to VC.
There are certain predictions that video telephony could be developed soon to replace the current form of telephony but we will still see if people are willing to accept it. VC in education can also be useful. Especially for geographically isolated and economically disadvantaged areas. Through VC, children can visit other parts of the world, visit a zoo, museum, learn a language, etc.
They can also be useful in medicine. Using them, patients can contact doctors in emergencies or request a diagnosis if they are very far from the hospital.

  50. Video-Conferencing is very useful in situations like this, when we want to see someone but we're not allowed to meet in person. There are many advantages, but also disadvantages. Some of disadvantages is depending on internet connection and computer. We all have experienced it, and it's not pleasant experience. It's bad especially when we have online exams. We must have our microphones and cameras on, and to make it happen, we need peace. It's hard when we're not living alone. We can use it in education, but only for short period, or in extraordinary circumstances. I prefer face to face meetings, because in that case I don't feel like I'm talking to a computer, I don't get confused. It's easier when you feel the presence of the person you're talking to. I remember when we used Skype for Video-conferencing. Nowadays, there are many apps we can use. I prefer, and I think, one of the best platforms is Zoom. Best applications are Teams, WhatsApp, Viber, Zoom. Video-conferencing can aid us in the educational process by allowing direct communication with the professor. Advantages of video-conferencing platforms are that it allows for communication, learning, exchange of information and experiences. That is very difficult to achieve via video-conferencing.

  52. Video conferencing is a communication through which, in real time, sound and images in motion alternate between two or more locations, thus allowing participants to hold a business meeting or training “live”. It offers many options, offers solutions to some challenging situations. However, it cannot completely replace face to face communication. We cannot feel someone's energy across the screen, we do not feel that closeness, so it is easier to imagine something false.I would say it should be used when it makes no difference whether something is done live or live over the internet. This is the case with some brief consultations or emergency meetings. When it comes to education and socializing with society, I definitely give priority to live contact.

  53. Video- conferencing today is used very often. It is really useful during these times of pandemic. It has a lot of advantages, but also a lot of disatvantages. As I said it is really useful during the pandemic, online classes became really popular. It is also used for online bussiness meetings. But honestly, I don't like it. It can have bad impact on mental health if it's used too much. Online meeting is never the same as a "face to face" meeting. When it comes to schools, kids learn way more stuff at face to face classes, than at online classes. In school, kids get to hang out with eachother, they get to make friends and be social. With video-conferencing, that is not possible. I hope that in future, video-conferencing won't be used as much as it is used today, even though it is useful in times like these! Mia Vizdal, RN2.

  56. I don't really like video-conferencing. The advantages are that we don’t have to go anywhere we can from home attend classes, job interview, meetings. In a time of pandemic this is the best way to communicate. That way we avoid gathering too many people. The bad side is that we lose concentration quickly, we don’t listen to the professor because they don’t see us. We often forget that we have lectures because we are at home and we always find another occupation. Also socialization is very bad especially in times of pandemic when we can't even go anywhere. We get used to being online fast and then it’s weird and hard for us when we have to go back to college. We become lazy because we are used to video-conferencing from our bed in our pajamas. It is bad because we spend a lot of time in front of our computers and lack of real personal connection.
Best applications for video-conferencing from my personal experience is Teams. I'm used to it and I like it. People make informed decisions faster and work more efficiently. Video-conferencing can be used in education because it is easier to work with students and children in time of pandemic. I don't really like video-conferencing because I easily forget the tasks I have to do and the exams. I don't like to talk because i have a feeling i'm talking to myself. Face-to-face mettings is easier for me. But over time, we get used to everything, including video-conferencing.
